Museum Trustee attends State Visit of South African President

Royal Welsh Museum trustee Dorcas Cresswell has been honoured with an invitation to meet South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The president was in the UK for a state visit, the first to be hosted by King Charles and the Queen Consort, and held a reception for invited guests at the South African High Commission in London.

Mrs Cresswell was asked to attend the function, held at South Africa House in Trafalgar Square, on November 21st, to continue building the friendship between KwaZulu Natal and Wales.

She said: “It really was an honour to be asked to the event and I look forward to spending more time with our friends from South Africa.

“The relationship was borne initially out of our shared history in the Anglo-Zulu War, but has turned into a really strong and important friendship, which extends beyond Wales to the whole of the UK.”
